I'm glad you're here...
I currently live near the shore of Lake Ontario - a region of New York State rich in Native American history.
I've not always lived here. I started out in northern Pennsylvania. Now I am an octogenarian - a stage where considerable time is spent perusing memories. Such memories take me southward through a landscape resplendent with much underrated natural beauty. It's the landscape of my life's story and one equally rich in Native American History. In 2012 I was inspired to try my hand at writing fiction - as a companion preoccupation to memory perusal. What began as a way to express my love for this region of the USA - where I have spent my life - has grown into a budding passion to write. It's a bit late-in-life for "budding", you might be thinking. As logical as that is, I've decided to ignore the assessment.
My current residence was chosen to be near my four children and their offspring. I am, of course, retired - but from a list of disparate occupations. Mine is a restless spirit. I have, my whole life, called myself a Christian - but my perception of what that means has evolved significantly.
I love a wide range of music genres and am a closet lyricist.
I love interacting with pre-school children. I am an experienced grape grower. I am a consummate do-it-yourselfer, much to the chagrin of my lovely wife of 36 years.
I endorse the mantra, "you're never too old to learn", and I will be working on my next novel until the day I go to join my ancestors.
Why do I write literary fiction? I'm not sure I realize all the reasons. However, there is one that stands out if only by virtue of its absurdity. I have an inborn ache to know everybody else's business. Because I have always disciplined myself to respect prudent boundaries, I get a kick out of creating characters and scenarios to which I am absolutely privy. Boundaries don't exist and the characters don't seem to mind.
I would love to dialogue with you... that's why you see a chat link lower left.
